Description:

The BPDA is hosting a virtual Impact Advisory Group (IAG) meeting for the 35-75 Morrissey Boulevard project, located in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the proposed changes and discuss potential impacts and mitigation. The meeting will include a presentation followed by questions and comments from the IAG.

The Proposed Project seeks to redevelop over multiple phases, three parcels located at 35-75 Morrissey Boulevard, which consists of approximately 388,500 square feet of land. The Project proposes development of up to 1.56 million gross square feet across seven (7) new buildings, four of which will house office/life science uses and three of which will consist of multi-family housing, along with below-grade parking. The ground floors of all buildings will include a mix of restaurant, retail, and/or public space. The Project contemplates the creation of a new roadway network, including new bicycle and pedestrian pathways, and the development of other publicly available open space, including four (4) street-level community parks, a total of approximately 4.7 acres of publicly accessible open space. The Project reimagines the area as a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for use by shoppers, area employees, and area residents and creating a key link from the neighboring Dorchester communities to the greater Columbia Point area.

Please note that the purpose of this meeting is different from that of a traditional community meeting. As part of the development review process, IAG members work closely with BPDA staff to identify the impacts of a project and recommend appropriate community benefits to offset those impacts. IAG meetings prioritize discussion between the project proponent (i.e. the developer) and IAG members.
