Welcome! ¡Bienvenido! Chào mừng! Byenvini! Benvindu!

The Fields Corner plan will document a public investment and growth-focused vision for the area around the central businesses and train and bus stops. This plan is part of Squares + Streets, a new planning and zoning initiative that will focus on housing, public space, arts and culture, small businesses, and transportation in neighborhood centers and along main streets. The links below include more information about the project, what we've heard so far, and ways to get involved and impact the plan.

The people who live, work, shop, and visit this commercial area will have the opportunity to participate in the development of the plan. Please also explore the events on this page or in month or list view on our calendar. The Fields Corner team will be at many community events while we work together on the plan.

The Fields Corner Squares + Streets planning team will be at the Fields Corner Business Lab (Third Floor) every Friday either in the morning or afternoon, starting on July 26. The City of Boston is launching a series of Squares + Streets plans. One of the initial four locations is Fields Corner, a key commercial district in the Dorchester neighborhood.

Squares + Streets focuses on small geographic areas around the City of Boston, creates plans that reflect community needs, and provides implementable action steps that respond to those needs within a 5–10-year period.

The Squares + Streets process looks to develop a plan and implementable recommendations within 6–9 months to ensure that critical needs identified by the community during the engagement process have a well-understood planning-to-implementation pipeline. This timeline also reflects the urgency of the larger housing crisis affecting many areas in Boston and a desire to reduce the barriers to participation inherent in long engagement processes.

Materials for the project will be posted on our website and presented in multiple formats as well as in additional languages at no cost to you. Please reach out if there is a community meeting or event where you would like staff to share more about the project!
