Office of the Chief of Planning

The Office of the Chief of Planning oversees all facets of the Planning Cabinet to ensure staff is shaping growth that serves Boston’s residents and centers their needs, with a focus on resilience, affordability, and equity.

The Office of the Chief of Planning is staffed by a team of professionals with legal, planning, economic development, and policy expertise. The staff works closely with all of the Planning Department’s divisions and serves as the Chief’s liaison to other city departments, elected officials, the community, developers, businesses, and all other stakeholders. The Office works with all divisions within the Planning Department to identify and execute priority initiatives and new policies, and to create innovative planning and development strategies.
