The Domestic Migration Map is an interactive tool designed to assist readers in understanding pre-pandemic migration flows into and out of Boston. The tool highlights a number of factors that may influence a person's decision to relocate to or from Boston, including median rent, median household income, education levels, job types available, and average January temperature. The tool examines two distinct geographies: metropolitan areas across the country and cities and towns in the five-county area surrounding Boston. The migration data comes from the 2010-2019 American Community Survey.
