Construction has begun on the Dorchester Avenue Project (Dot Ave.) This project was selected as the first major project in Boston to receive $15 million in funding through the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act (ARRA). The Dorchester Avenue Project is a planning intiative led by the BRA toward developing a comprehensive plan for the enhancement of Dorchester Avenue. The Dot Ave Project addresses four miles of Dorchester Avenue, focusing on issues regarding transportation, neighborhood businesses, neighborhood housing, and streetscapes between Lower Mills and the intersection of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue.
