Mayor Menino Reminds Residents There’s Still Time to Take Advantage of Earned Income Tax Credit

Apr 28, 2010

Mayor Thomas M. Menino is alerting Boston residents that they now have until May 11 to file their tax returns, and take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit, (EITC) which can provide up to $5,657 to eligible, low-to-moderate income working residents. This cash credit can go toward paying off a large utility bill, buying necessities for children, into savings, or help cover any household expenses. Due to the recent storms and flooding, several counties in Massachusetts, including Suffolk County now have an extended deadline of May 11th. Many of the Boston EITC Campaign sites will remain open until May 11th to assist taxpayers, by appointment only.
