Quincy Heights Project in Dorchester to Rehab 129 Public Housing Units

The Quincy Heights redevelopment project in Dorchester will rehabilitate 129 public housing units through renovation and new construction of 11 buildings located within a three-block radius in Grove Hall. The project will be carried out in two phases. Quincy Heights 1 involves the renovation of nine building to create 80 new affordable units. Quincy Heights 2 involves the demolition of four buildings and the acquisition of five adjacent city- and privately-owned lots, to create 49 new affordable units. • Total square footage: 156,817 • Construction jobs: 187 • Total project cost: $53.1 million The development team consists of Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation and Quincy Geneva Housing Corporation as the developer; Elton & Hampton Architects as project architect; SAS Design as project landscape architect; Mitchell L. Fischman, AICP as Article 80 Permitting Consultant; Howard Stein-Hudson Associates as transportation consultant; Henry Joseph & Associates as development consultant; United Housing Management, LLC as project manager; Robert Schafer as legal counsel; New Ecology, Inc., as Green Building consultant; and Paul F. Padua Associates as project mechanical engineer.
