Want to Green Your Triple-Deckers?

Sep 01, 2011

Have you considered retrofitting your triple-decker to improve its energy performance? Yes?  Then, keep reading! The Triple-Decker Pilot Project will provide grants, matched with $27,000 in utility and BRA incentives, to five qualifying owners seeking significant energy performance improvements to their triple-deckers.  Depending on the project, total costs may vary, but the owner’s portion could range from $25,000 to $75,000.  This is a project of the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s Greentech Initiative. NSTAR, National Grid, and Energy Star provider ICF International have helped develop a model for retrofitting Boston’s triple-deckers while preserving their history.  Applicants should be logistically and financially prepared to work with a team of energy efficiency experts. Owner-occupants, owner-investors, and condo associations are all eligible to apply.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
