ArtistSpace Boston Spotlight Event: "Time Pieces" at ArtBlock

Nov 08, 2013

This November, the Gallery at ArtBlock invites you to a two-person show, Time Pieces, featuring new work by Danielle  Sauvé and Jesús Matheus.

Sauvé and Matheus are both members of the ArtBlock community with studios in the Bates Artists Studios. The ArtBlock development, located on upper Harrison Avenue in the South End, encompasses work-only galleries and live/work artists’ spaces.  In 2006, the BRA used city-owned land to create the opportunity for this private development serving Boston artists.  Artists who rent work-only studios or who reside in live/work units are required to be certified through the BRA's ArtistSpace Initiative.  These restrictions remain today and  live/work units must be resold to income-qualifying artists and affordable work-only studios are income-based and used by certified artists.

The exhibition runs from November 15, 2013 to January 11, 2014. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturdays 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There will be an opening reception on November 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at which the artists will be present to discuss their work.
