BRA Website Nominated for Kentico CMS's Site of the Year
Jan 28, 2014
The BRA's recently revamped website,
www.bostonredevelopmentauthority.org
, has been named a finalist in Kentico CMS's
2013 Site of the Year competition
.
Kentico
is a CMS, or content management system, which offers multiple users the ability to easily update their web content without significant knowledge of code or web development. When the BRA first launched the website redesign project in 2012, a major goal was to provide our constituents with accurate, relevant, and frequently updated information through the site. By using a CMS and engaging many members of our staff with updating the website, we are beginning to accomplish this. To date, over 50 members of the agency have been trained to use Kentico to edit their departmental pages, documents, and events on
www.bostonredevelopmentauthority.org
.
On the public-facing side of the site, the new
www.bostonredevelopmentauthority.org
was carefully designed with our partners from
Boston Interactive
to boost public involvement by providing visitors with increased access to project and agency information. The site features an
interactive map
of Boston’s neighborhoods, dynamic
Document Center
and
Calendar
sections, as well as
neighborhood landing pages
with
development news
and information specific to each area.
The annual Kentico Site of the Year contest recognizes the best Kentico CMS implementations and chooses the top three from each of several categories to be put to the public vote. Voting for the Kentico Site of the Year opens January 28 and runs through March 11, 2014.
We hope you are enjoying our site, and all the work that everyone in the agency is now able to put into it. You can vote for
