ONEin3 Spotlight: Nextgen Golf
Aug 05, 2014
Kris Hart is the CEO and Co-Founder of Nextgen Golf, a Boston based company launched in 2011 that aims to make golf relevant for young people ages 18-34. Nextgen Golf provides discounted memberships and tournaments for players of all skill levels, specifically catering to college students and young professionals. The program merged in 2013 with The National Collegiate Club Golf Association, amassing more than 10,000 student members.
A product of East Longmeadow, MA, Kris always had an attraction to startup companies, as well as a passion for the sport of golf. Through Nextgen Golf, Kris is attempting to understand what young professionals like and dislike about the sport of golf, by providing them with social golf experiences in Boston. He believes that he can make the game relevant again for young people, and, in doing so, have the opportunity to define what the “new school” of golf would look like.
The decision to live in Boston and start his company here was an easy one. He cites the availability of jobs, sense of community, and overall vibe of the city as the main reasons why Boston is a great place to be a young professional.
Kris currently lives in South Boston, and his favorite activities in the city are golfing (obviously), biking, eating, and attending community events for entrepreneurs.
