ONEin3 Council Member and Roxbury native, Kimberly Lyle, builds community and helps young adults through the challenges and changes in life that no one likes to talk about - the hard parts of adulthood that everyone assumes everyone else has figured out.
“Through my work at the Society of Grownups, I hope to encourage young adults to take charge of their financial lives,” says Kim. “I made a lot of financial mistakes in my early twenties, and I want to help people avoid my mistakes, or recover from theirs. Financial literacy is power.”
Since Society of Grownups opened its doors in early October, they have offered classes, chats, supper clubs, guest speakers, special events and presentations around topics such as: advancing your career, building a home, and establishing solid financial footing. All topics which can be intimidating for young adults to think and talk about.
As Community Manager, Kim can be found any given day at the Society of Grownups headquarters meeting, greeting and building strong relationships with members of the community. So whether you want to take a plunge and plan for your future, or just hang out with other young adults, Kim will be there to greet you with a big smile and some good advice.
