Mayor Walsh's Office of Financial Empowerment and Department of Youth Engagement & Employment to host Boston Youth Bank Day

Mayor Martin J. Walsh's Office of Financial Empowerment and the Department of Youth Engagement & Employment will host Boston Youth Bank Day on Monday, July 27,  to empower young people and provide them with the skills and resources needed to make informed financial decisions. Representatives from local banks, nonprofits and the City of Boston will be on hand to discuss smart financial planning and to provide information about resources.
 
Young people will have an opportunity to learn and ask questions about basic banking concepts, such as what to ask a financial institution when opening an account. Experts will also be available to discuss what to look for in a bank, tools for repairing and building one's credit and financial needs associated with college tuition, including where to get help with financial aid issues.
