Your selfies help us picture the future of Boston

Dec 21, 2015

Earlier this month, we hit the streets with our traveling photo booth to encourage all who live, work and play in our city to picture themselves in the future of Boston with us. Our selfie station visited City Hall Plaza for its kickoff event and made its way to Roxbury, Dorchester, East Boston and Downtown Crossing over the course of a week. We finished our journey at the City of Boston’s 74th annual Christmas tree lighting on Boston Common.

The Imagine Boston team was excited to see so many Bostonians stop by, selfie with us, and share their ideas on transportation, housing, development, city culture, and so much more. We even had a few notable attendees stop by our booth, including Boston’s beloved Keytar Bear and Mayor Walsh! Here are some of our favorite shots from the week.
Jamil from Hyde Park wants to see better transportation. Oscar from the North End loves what’s been happening downtown and hopes the growth continues!
Kristen from Dorchester wants more programs for middle school kids to keep them on a path to a happy and healthy life. Maria quiere protección in su barrio. [Maria would like her neighborhood to be safer]
These are just a few of our favorite photos from our travels, but you can see the complete collection on our Facebook page here.

Be sure to check out more coverage of the events below:
Didn’t get a chance to visit our traveling photo booth? We still want you to picture yourself in the future of our city! Share your selfie on any of our social media pages (TwitterFacebookInstagram) using the hashtag #ImagineBoston. In your post, let us know what issues around Boston matter most to you and what your vision is for our future in 2030 and beyond.  Selfies aren’t the only way to share your ideas – we have a number of additional ways to give us your feedback.
