Best of the BRA’s blog for 2015

2015 was another banner year for construction in Boston, and the BRA was at the center of it all. You don’t need to look very far as you make your way around the city to notice skyline-altering towers taking shape, new housing in nearly every neighborhood, and soon-to-open commercial and retail spaces. We close out the year with an estimated $7.4 billion worth of construction underway that will lead to 14 million square feet of new development (the equivalent of about a dozen Prudential Buildings!).
With all this exciting activity, it’s easy to forget that the BRA is involved in much more than the review and approval of big buildings. As 2015 comes to an end, we’re taking a look back at the top stories from our blog this year to give you a sense for what’s kept us busy, and, more importantly, the news that our readers found most interesting.
We had an impressive 700,000 visits to the BRA’s website in 2015, including 40,000 visitors to our news page. The recaps of our monthly board meetings tend to command the most attention, as evidenced by the fact that those articles account for 7 of the top 10 posts and half of the top 20.
