Applications open for Allston Community Benefits grant opportunity

Aug 26, 2016

In May 2013, the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) Board approved the Icon at 75 Brainerd Road Project. The building, now complete, is home to 104 rental apartments and 108 parking spaces in the Allston neighborhood of Boston.

As part of this project approval, the developer contributed $100,000 in funding to the BRA to be disbursed to the Allston community for programs to support neighborhood improvement initiatives.

The application for this grant opportunity is now available on the BRA’s website.

Applicants are required to submit a plan to the BRA that describes how they will utilize the funds to benefit the Allston neighborhood and/or community. As a final document, this proposal should include:
  • Completed application
  • Program budget
  • Corporate board of directors roster
  • Organization Certificate of Good Standing (provided by the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts)
  • Federal Tax Exemption Determination Letter
All awards will require BRA board approval, and chosen applicants will be required to enter into a grant agreement with the BRA.

Applications can be accessed here and are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

Questions and concerns should be directed to Brian Norton at [email protected] or 617.918.5283.
