Chain Forge, also known as Building 105, is an approximately 58,800 sf historic building in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The Planning Department invites the community to envision the future of this iconic landmark together.
Latest Updates
The Planning Department held an initial RFP Visioning Session on September 17, 2024 which shared updates on the previous disposition of the Chain Forge, considerations for various site constraints, and discussions for possible uses and their feasibility that could guide a new RFP for the site. The next community meeting, scheduled in October, will discuss the environmental remediation at the Chain Forge.
