New Boutique Hotel Proposed for 368 Congress Street in the Fort Point Channel

Oct 22, 2010

Norwich Partners of Boston LLC submitted a Notice of Project Change earlier this week for the 368 Congress Street project. Located in the Fort Point Channel, the project includes an innovative and environmentally sustainable extended-stay 120-room hotel. The proposed project modifies a prior proposal submitted by Berkeley Investments to redevelop the property as a commercial office building, which was approved by the BRA in April 2008.

The proposed project will create an active, vibrant 18-hour use on the site of a vacant, underutilized historic building. The historic rehabilitation of the structure will create approximately 200 construction jobs and 15 new permanent jobs. Two new retail or restaurant spaces will be created on Congress Street, bringing street life to this edge of the building.

The public comment period runs through November 15, 2010. Comments should be directed to Jay Rourke, Senior Project Manager.
