BRA Researchers Publish Article

Congratulations to BRA Director of Research, Alvaro Lima, and Deputy Director for Research, Mark Melnik, whose article “How the Census and Other Data Can Be Used to Inform Local Initiatives” appeared in the quarterly publication, Municipal Magazine. The article focuses on how the BRA research department uses data to inform policy making and city programs.  The researchers discuss the power of the 2010 Census and the American Community Survey to identify demographic and economic trends in Boston. The BRA research team was invited to author the article, following a presentation Mr. Lima made for a meeting of Massachusetts mayors on the topic.
