Downtown's Transformation First-Hand
Nov 02, 2012
More than 70 brokers from LINK, a Boston-based Multiple Listing Service (MLS) real estate information service, journeyed through the transformation of Downtown Crossing, led by the BRA Planning Department. Included were hard-hat tours of The Kensington and Millennium Place, inside the now closed Burnham Building, and into the luxury condos of 45 Province. Since 2008, over 90 new businesses have opened, including Sip Wine Bar and Avery Provisions Co. The planners highlighted National Trust for Historic Preservation awardees, Boston Opera House, the Modern Theatre, and the Paramount Theater. Members of the BRA Planning Department related that the intersection of Washington and Winter is the busiest in Boston, and Macy’s has extended its hours due to incredible demand.
