Innovation Excellence Award winners honored by Mayor Walsh and Director Golden
Dec 07, 2016
Congratulations to LeeAnn Coleman, John Swenson, and Anthony Verani who were honored in a December 6 ceremony at City Hall after being selected as the Boston Planning & Development Agency's (BPDA) Innovation Excellence Award winners. The award is designed to encourage innovation within the BPDA and to acknowledge the innovative ideas, hard work, and commitment of the agency's employees.
This team was selected for the role they played in launching the BPDA's new web-based Property Management Solution, which allows the agency to better manage its leases. After several months of collecting lease documentation from various sources, all of the agency’s 126 leases were reviewed, abstracted for salient facts, and entered into a new lease administration software called Yardi. In addition, over 1,100 lease documents were scanned and added to this web-based software. Prior to this initiative, no single repository for leases existed and access to information was limited and cumbersome. Staff are now able to easily access lease information, produce reports as needed, and proactively manage the agency’s lease portfolio.
The nominees were selected by a group of their colleagues, which included Michael O'Shea, Kathleen Joyce, Sonal Gandhi, Nicholas Martin, Nat Gorham and Vroselyn Benjamin.
