Description:
The first Advisory Group (AG) meeting for PLAN: Downtown introduced the planning team and AG members as well as provide an update on the current status of PLAN: Downtown. The meeting was open to the public, and members of the public were allowed to comment. In addition, the BPDA welcomed members of the AG and public to attend an Open House at the BPDA offices prior to the event. More information is available here.
Role of the PLAN: Downtown Advisory Group
As part of the PLAN: Downtown process, Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) selected community members to serve on an Advisory Group (AG) through an open nomination process. Members of the AG will assist the City’s planning team in several tasks related to the initiative including:

Community outreach efforts

Reviewing the consultant’s tasks and their findings

Evaluating existing conditions analyses

Participating in the development of a vision, goals, and principles for the Future Downtown

Assessing development scenarios and their associated impacts

Proposing viable recommendations that will ultimately inform new urban design and development guidelines and potential zoning regulations
