Boston by the Numbers is a series created by the Research Division that highlights the characteristics of Boston's population and economy. The data in this report is a combination of Decennial Census and 2006-2010 American Community Survey data. This report has been revised to use the boundaries for the West End and Downtown that went into effect in 2014. See the revised report using the new boundaries

Mark Melnik, Deputy Director for Research, spoke to a group convened by the Mayor's Office of Jobs and Community Services and the Boston Private Industry Council, as part of a new series called the Boston Workforce Issues Forum. He spoke about the 2010 Census and what's been learned in terms of demographic and socio-economic trends in Boston.
